Beijing is a great place to shop. No matter you are looking for luxury splurge department stores or local handicrafts and unusual items, you will never feel disappointed here. Anyway, make sure you haggle for a good price as the Chinese have well-honed bargaining skills. If you are looking for latest fashion or modern attires, Wang Fu Jing and Xidan are the destination which suits you the most. All international brands can be found here. However, if you prefer much on Chinese cultures attires or art galleries, you must have visit to Liu Li Chang and Da Shi Lan. Liu Li Chang is a very special culture street in Beijing where you will never find tall buildings or even bars and night clubs here. Since the middle of Qing Dynasty, this is the place where lots of scholars gathered and prepared for the imperial examination. Thus, if books, Chinese style stationeries and art galleries are your favorite, you will not feel the time flies when you enjoying shopping here. Da Shi Lan, however, is the oldest shopping street in Beijing. When you step into the shopping street, you will definitely feel that as if you have been transferred back to the old Beijing town. On the other hand, if you enjoy bargaining, do try your luck at Silk Stores. You can find all that you need here but you need to do a lot of bargaining before you are able to get it.
